Which LSU Tigers Have Put Forth The Most Value For Their NFL Teams?
Of all the former Tigers currently plying their trade in the NFL, Peterson has accumulated the most weighted career approximate value, at 101, dwarfing Mathieu, who currently ranks second among LSU players, at 59.
That’s largely because Peterson, through his 184-game NFL career, has 34 interceptions, 15 tackles for loss, and four sacks to his name — serving as the backbone of the Cardinals and Vikings secondaries for 12 years.
Mathieu, meanwhile, has 29 interceptions with the Cardinals, Chiefs, Texans and Saints in his 146-game NFL career. He has been an effective safety and has been in the league since 2013.
Defensive tackle Michael Brockers has put forth the third-most value of any Tiger in the NFL, thanks to his 29 sacks and 274 tackles across 160 NFL games, posting a career value of 58.
Landry (56) and Beckham Jr. (55) round out the top-five for LSU, with the former hauling in 713 receptions for 7,870 yards and 38 touchdowns across 132 games. Beckham has 531 receptions, 7,367 yards and 56 receiving touchdowns in his NFL career.
The quintet of former LSU stars are joined by linebacker Danielle Hunter (53), guard Trai Turner (51), cornerback Tre’Davious White (46), safety Jamal Adams (42) and linebacker Deion Jones (41) in the Tigers’ top-10, illustrating the continued impact that the Baton Rouge institution’s had on the NFL over the past 20 years.
