Tigers Ready To Take Off?

LSU head coach Brian Kelly has always had solid offenses throughout his career, including his long-time tenure at Notre Dame. After his second season in Baton Rouge, the Tigers offense improved dramatically from his first season, thanks in large part to this year’s Heisman Trophy recipient Jayden Daniels.

The Tigers (10-3) ranked sixth out of 10 teams on our list, improving their offensive output by 10.1 points, going from 32.2 average points per game in 2022 to 43.3 points per game in 2023. The 43.3 points average was the largest of any of the team listed, 1.6 points better than Oklahoma (41.7 ppg), who placed ninth. Keep tabs on where Daniels will be picked in the NFL Draft here.

Georgia Tech (7-6), the Gasparilla Bowl champions after a 30-17 victory over Central Florida on Dec. 22, topped the list with a 14.2 average points per game difference (29.7) from 15.5 points in 2022.

Daniels Dominant All Season

The LSU offense was spearheaded by Daniels, who completed 236-of-327 passes (72.2%) for 3,812 yards with 40 touchdowns thrown with four interceptions and a quarterback rating of 208 this season. He also had 135 carries for 1,134 yards rushing (8.4 yards per carry) with 10 TDs, including in four of his last five games played.

Will Kelly’s 2024 offense be equal to this year’s offense with Daniels heading to the NFL? We all will find out when the 2024 season kicks off at the Vegas Kickoff Classic against USC at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
